University Archives

The University Archives document the history and development of the Georgia Institute of Technology and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Collections in this archive contain the records of Georgia Tech’s administrative offices, educational programs, standing bodies of the faculty and staff, extracurricular organizations, and more. Materials include student and university publications, visual materials, commencement records, meeting minutes, correspondence, and memorabilia that evidence the traditions and creative output of Georgia Tech.

Special Collections

Special Collections offer a broad array of subject based collecting areas that further enrich and highlight the experience of faculty, staff, and students at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Current collecting areas include a large science fiction collection and records of textile mills and architecture firms in the Southeast.

Accessing the Collections

The Archives Reading Room is open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Physical collections must be viewed in the Archives Reading Room.

All requests for access to physical archives and special collections are made through the online request system. Please login or register a new account to initiate archival requests. Items can be requested by clicking the request button on the page describing the item. Please note that most materials are stored offsite and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Requests submitted after noon on Friday will be available the following Monday. Feel free to contact Archives with any questions.
