Belman Jewelry Company account, 1961-1962

This subseries contains a variety of documents relating to the daily operation of the radio station. Correspondence documents exchanges between the station personnel and the Board of Regents or other Georgia radio stations concerning such subjects as daily operations, two court cases, and broadcast agreements. The affidavits and court statements stem from two separate lawsuits, the first involving the station's affiliation with the Columbia Broadcasting System in 1947 and the second concerning the rights to a television channel in 1951. The financial statements are mostly comprised of commercial businesses that did not pay their advertising fees over a period of time. The transactions and correspondence from the collection agency document the success or failure of WGST to collect these funds. Employee pay sheets are also included. Contractual agreements for broadcasting collegiate football games, the Peach Bowl, and auto racing events also form part of this subseries. The last folder includes the station's broadcasting schedule for the years 1961-1966.
