Significant parts of these general files are: 1. An inventory from the Georgia Archives Ella Wall Van Leer Genealogical Collection containing series on Van Leer, Ragsdale, Tarleton, and other related families; and 2. A book titled Fannin County Folks and Facts with articles on Ragsdale, Tarleton, and Van Leer families by Ella Wall Van Leer, and portraits of Thomas Smith Ragsdale (1812-1862), Amanda Holloway Ragsdale, Colonel James Tarleton, Mrs. Robert Price Tarleton and family, Wayne Van Leer (1810-1881), and Mary McKee Tarleton and Maurice Langhorne Van Leer. Also included are general family trees, which mainly provide ancestry information on the Van Leer side of the family.
