Scope and Contents

This collection contains silver gelatin prints. Several photographs were once housed in a scrapbook, as evidenced by the cardboard backing and tape on the photograph edges. Due to the tape, the photograph edges have darkened; however, most of the photographs are in good condition with only minimal fading.

History of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity

Alpha Tau Omega was founded in 1865 by Otis Allan Glazebrook, Erskine Mayo Ross and Alfred Marshall, at the Virginia Military Institute. Georgia Tech's chapter of ATO, the oldest fraternity on the campus, began before the first classes were held at the institution, when Isaac Hopkins, the first Tech president, approved it in mid 1888.

Provenance

Russell Watson donated these photographs in 2000 (Accession #2000.050).
