Georgia Tech Archives and Special Collections holds an issue published in 1953. It may not be a complete run of the publication.
Space Stories was begun in 1952 under publisher Standard Magazines and editor Samuel Mines. Mines was sought to make Space Stories more entertainment driven, seeking to delight with action and adventure. This was in contrast to many sci-fi magazines, which were more focused on moral questions and social commentary. While intially subcessful, the magazine did not have much to set it apart, and many of the stories were regarded as forgettable. The interior art was of a higher quality than the writing, but again had nothing to set it apart. The series ceased publication in 1953, with only 5 issues being published.
