This collection consists of papers and other materials compiled by Wister Jean Cook. It contains correspondence, written works by Cook and others, as well as other documents concerning Cook’s professional activities. The creation dates of materials in this collection range from 1960 to 2000. Undated materials have been given approximate dates based on Cook’s time as a professor at Georgia Tech.
Wister Jean Cook (1934-2016) was born in Ashford, AL and attended Judson College where she studied Music and Literature. Cook went on to earn a master's degree from the University of Arkansas and a PhD from Auburn University. Cook taught English at Georgia Tech from 1966 to 1998. Some other topics covered in her courses include Art History, Architecture, and Film.
