This collection contains correspondence, photographs, and artifacts on topics relating to Sorrow’s work and school life. Earlier materials are from Sorrow’s time at Georgia Tech where she studied Industrial Engineering. Other items come from her work with SciTrek, Atlanta Downtown Partnership, and the 1996 Paralympics. The bulk of these materials are dated 1980-1996. Among the subjects covered are also materials concerning politics including materials covering the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
Linda Henson Sorrow attended the Georgia Institute of Technology where she received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1984. She served as the volunteers manager for the High Museum’s China Exhibit which was sponsored by Georgia Tech in 1985. Sorrow then worked as a Marketing and Special Events Manager at the Science and Technology Museum of Atlanta (SciTrek). In 1996 she coordinated recruiting and scheduled volunteers for the Paralympic Games.
The collection is arranged in six series: Atlanta Downtown Partnership, Democratic National Convention, Georgia Tech, SciTrek, and Paralympics and Olympics, and Pins.
Materials are stored off-site. Requests for access must be submitted in advance.

If available, three copies were retained. Publications such as magazines that are easily found elsewhere were not kept. In some cases, photocopies of relevant pages were taken and retained with like materials.
Three copies were kept of items when available. Publications and materials outside of the scope of the collection were weeded.
