This collection consists of published admissions catalogs dating from 1974 to 1997. Each catalog contains information on qualifications and deadlines for admission; campus life at Georgia Tech; brief descriptions of academic programs, freshman courses, and undergraduate degrees; admission policies and procedures; and financial aid. The volumes after 1984-1985 also each include a printed application form. There are no catalogs in this collection for 1976-1977, 1981-1982, 1985-1986, 1993, 1994, and 1996.
Admissions catalogs at the Georgia Institute of Technology apparently began to be published annually in 1974, containing information for admission to the 1975-1976 academic year. Prior to that date, the Bulletin of the Georgia Institute of Technology contained regular issues providing general information on courses of study at Georgia Tech (the Bulletin has these issues dating from 1906 to 1973; from 1935 to 1973, these issues are given the title Information for Prospective Students
). As of this writing (September 2011), undergraduate admissions information and application forms are available online at the Georgia Tech website, but brochures and pamphlets are still being produced by the Office of Admissions for prospective students.
