This booklet contains a compilation of articles that appeared mainly in the Atlanta newspapers on the various games played by the 1951 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team. Compiled by contemporary Tech students Hugh W. Folk and George D. Newton Jr., with the assistance of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and the Georgia Tech Athletic Association, the booklet also includes a brief article by coach Bobby Dodd, a picture of the 1951 football team, and a roster. Copies of the photographs that originally appeared with the newspaper articles and statistics for each game are also included. Articles from other southern newspapers, such as the Miami Herald, the Nashville Banner, and the Birmingham News appear occasionally as well. The booklet sold for $1.55 and was available from the Georgia Tech Athletic Association.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team (known as the "Golden Tornado") of 1951 won 10 games and tied 1 during the regular season. Coached by legendary football coach Bobby Dodd, they went on to become SEC champions, and they were victorious in the Orange Bowl game, beating their opponents, Baylor University, by a score of 17 to 14.
