Harold A. “Dutch” Faisst was an outstanding Georgia Tech athlete, who played on the 1929 Rose Bowl football team. A member of the Class of 1930, he worked for the Aluminum Company of America after graduation. The Visual Materials collection includes several photographs of a Koseme initiation, pictures of teammates, and various other photographs documenting his time at Georgia Tech.

The Harold A. Faisst Visual Materials include several loose photographs, as well as several photographs located inside a scrapbook. The pictures include photographs from a Koseme initiation ceremony, various photographs of teammates and friends, and several other pictures relating to Faisst's travels. All photographs are undated but are presumed to be from 1926-1930, when Faisst was a student at Georgia Tech.
Harold A. “Dutch” Faisst was born June 18, 1907. He was an outstanding athlete while at Georgia Tech from 1926-1930. He played on the 1929 Rose Bowl football team and was a record-breaking track star. A member of Sigma Nu fraternity, he was active in fraternity and inter-fraternity affairs. He was a founding member of the Georgia Tech chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1930. A native Arkansan, Faisst joined the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa) after graduation.
Faisst was married to Sara Cecil (1909-1983). He passed away in 1977 at the age of 69.

The Alumni Association donated the scrapbook and photographs in January 1999 (Accession #1999.0101; old #1999-01-01). Before donating the materials, the Alumni Association removed some items to include in an exhibition.
