This series documents the middle years of Crecine's Presidency, mainly 1990 to 1993. The academic restructuring is well-documented in Subseries 7 of this series, the Executive Vice President subseries, particularly in the folders on each of the academic units. Other subseries contain information on activities of the Alumni Association (Subseries 1), athletics (Subseries 2), the Board of Regents (Subseries 4), Georgia Tech Research Corporation (Subseries 8), and Georgia Tech Research Institute (Subseries 9). Smaller subseries include those on Atlanta organizations (Subseries 3), economic development (Subseries 5), the Executive Assistant to the President (Subseries 6), and the Vice President, Information Technology (Subseries 10).
Georgia Tech Archives and Special Collections restricts personnel records for 3-7 years according to the Board of Regents retention schedule from the date of creation.
Georgia Tech Archives and Special Collections restricts identifiable information in student records until the time of a student's death or 75 years after the date the record was created.
Georgia Tech Archives and Special Collections permenantly restricts documents that have been placed under seal by a court or are subject to a protective order; documents that identify by name or otherwise clients that have been represented anonymously or pseudonymously; the terms of any confidential settlement or agreement. All such documents shall remain permanently closed unless the records are declassified, unsealed, the protective order is modified, or the client or the client's legal representative waives the privilege in writing.

The original order of this series has been retained, for the most part. The original order for Subseries 7, the Executive Vice President subseries, was unclear, and some general administrative files may have been included in this subseries in error. This series is divided into ten subseries.
