This is an artificial collection of photographs relating to all aspects of Georgia Tech. These photographs come from a variety of sources including the school yearbook, other campus publications, and individual donations. With few exceptions, the photographs in this collection are black and white. The earliest photographs are copy images, dating from the 1860s and showing the area that became the Georgia Tech campus. Although the bulk of the images date from ca. 1890s-ca. 1990s, this is an artificial collection and new material continues to be added, therefore, the collection also may contain more recent images.
The photographs in this collection are organized into topical series which are arranged alphabetically. Most series are further divided into subseries. There are seven series: Academics, Centers, Programs, and Research; Athletics; Campus and Environs; Events; Military; Organizations and Student Life; and People.
A print copy of this finding aid is available in the Georgia Tech Archives reading room.
This collection is composed of multiple accessions and photographs originally kept in the subject files.
This collection may receive additional accessions in the future. These materials will be added to the collection and this finding aid updated as needed.
