The Georgia Tech Olympic/Paralympic Planning Office was directly responsible for planning Georgia Tech’s participation in the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. Georgia Tech served as the Olympic Village and was the venue for boxing and aquatic competitions. The Planning Office took care of project management, communications with the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) and paralympic agencies, contracts for the use of facilities, and details of dormitory and fraternity house construction and renovation. They also handled the provision for Institute operations during the Olympic period.
