The Atlanta Chapter Report, American Red Cross is a single issue of the Atlanta Chapter's newsletter, dated March 1947 (volume 1, number 6). It contains a front-page article on the assistance provided by the Chapter's Nurses Aides during a flu epidemic on the Georgia Tech campus in late February 1947. The nurses aides, listed in the article, worked three shifts a day to care for the ill students.
In 1947, the Atlanta Chapter, American Red Cross reached over 2,000 servicemen, veterans, and their families monthly through its Home Service division. Other major divisions of the Atlanta Chapter included First Aid, Water Safety, Accident Prevention, Home Nursing, Nutrition Service, and Junior Red Cross, but the Chapter offered eighteen continuous services. The March 1947 newsletter, distributed as a fundraising tool, highlighted the Chapter's activities. At that time, Oby T. Brewer served as chairman of the Atlanta Chapter.
