The press releases in this collection deal with GTRI research topics. They all date from September 1-21, 1947 and relate to three distinct subjects: Atlanta housing, peanut oil, and leading forest counties.
Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), formerly known as the Engineering Experiment Station (EES), was created by the Georgia Legislature in 1919. In the 1930s, EES researched mainly in the areas of textile, ceramics, and helicopter engineering. In the twenty-first century, GTRI has broadened the research to engineering, science, economics, and other technical research and services.
The press releases are arranged in chronological order. There are two copies of each press release.
